What is BBA?

BBA is a three-year undergraduate management degree covering marketing, finance, human resources and operations. It is the standard undergraduate step for students who intend to pursue an MBA, and it is deliberately general: the specialisation happens later. Employers treat it as a business-literacy degree rather than a technical one.

Eligibility

  • 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board
  • Typically 45%-60% aggregate
  • Some institutions conduct an aptitude test or personal interview

BBA vs the alternatives

Courses students commonly weigh against BBA.

BBA — frequently asked questions

Is BBA worth it without an MBA?

A BBA alone qualifies you for entry-level sales, operations, HR and marketing roles. Most of its long-term value, however, is realised when paired with an MBA or with three to four years of strong work experience. Treat it as a foundation, not a terminal qualification.

BBA or B.Com, which is better?

B.Com is deeper in accounting and finance and is the natural choice if you are heading toward CA, CS or a finance specialisation. BBA is broader and more management-oriented, with more case work and presentations. Choose B.Com for technical finance depth, BBA for general management breadth.

Can Science students do BBA?

Yes. BBA is open to all three streams at nearly every institution in India.
